Compassion in Action
Bereavement Care and Grief Support
Hospice care doesn’t end with a patient’s passing. Services for the patient are stopped at that time; however, bereavement care for loved ones is provided for up to 13 months after the death of the patient.
The Remarkable Hospice Bereavement Coordinator and chaplains are specially trained in helping patients and their loved ones as they begin to process their grief. Our chaplains are available to patients as they face the end of life. Chaplains help patients talk freely about and process their feelings. Chaplains are also available to help patients “settle any unfinished business”— such as making amends with a friend or family member or settling any spiritual issues.

Virtual Grief Support
The compassionate team at Remarkable Hospice believes in putting compassion into action. Our chaplains are still available during the pandemic via online virtual support. Chaplains can meet with patients and their loved ones through platforms such as Zoom, Google Meetups, Skype, etc.
Counseling Services
When loved ones are grieving, having the ability to talk about their feelings is imperative. At Remarkable Hospice, our Bereavement Coordinator, chaplains and grief counselors work together to provide counseling and grief care to loved ones of our patients who have passed away. Our team also works with those experiencing anticipatory grief—the feelings associated with the anticipation of loss.
The family and friends of patients are welcome to talk with our chaplains and grief counselors. They are also invited to participate in our support groups and online bereavement initiatives.

Ongoing Support
Our remarkable care doesn’t end with the passing of a patient. Instead, we offer our patients’ loved ones continued support. We want to check on them, provide grief support and bereavement care, and invite them to our grief support groups. These bereavement services can be especially meaningful during holiday seasons.
We also hold memorial services twice a year to honor those patients who have passed away, and loved ones are always welcome to join us and be a part of the service.
Compassionate Bereavement Care
“Grief is a natural part of life. It is a natural response to the loss of someone we love. As unique as the person we loved and lost, so is our grief journey. We will walk with you along this part of your journey as well. We are never more than a phone call or a text message away.”
